Dr. Hoppe studied chemistry at the Carolo-Wilhelmina University of Technology in Braunschweig, majoring in physical and analytical chemistry, and successfully completed this degree with an external diploma thesis at the Federal Agricultural Research Centre on a topic of plant nutrition and plant and soil analysis, as well as his doctoral thesis at the Jülich Research Center on an atmospheric chemistry topic at the intersection of physical and theoretical chemistry, that also included the development, construction, validation, and deployment of a reaction kinetic simulation chamber with gas chromatographic analytics.
